DESCRIPTION

Meet Theo!
2 years old 40 lbs Neutered Male Schnauzer Mix

Theo is a happy, handsome Schnauzer mix with a zest for life and enough enthusiasm to keep his future family smiling every day. At 2 years old, he's in the prime of his life and looking for a home that can match his energy and love of adventure.

This sweet boy is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, house trained, and crate trained. He loves people, enjoys other dogs, and truly thrives with canine companionship. In fact, Donnie would do best in a home with another playful dog to help keep him active and engaged.

About Theo:
2 years old
40 lbs
Neutered male Schnauzer mix
Up to date on vaccines
Heartworm negative
House and crate trained
Friendly with people and other dogs
High energy and playful
Best with older kids
Would love a dog sibling

Theo is a joyful, affectionate guy, but he does have some enthusiasm to spare. He tends to jump up when greeting new people, so he'd do best with older, considerate children who won't be knocked over by his excitement. He would also benefit from working with a trainer to polish his manners and help him become the very best version of himself.

Because of his energy level, Theo requires a securely fenced yard and an active family committed to providing him with plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventures. A bored Theo is a creative Theo, and this smart boy will flourish with structure and activity.

With his goofy personality, loving heart, and eagerness to please, Theo is ready to be someone's loyal sidekick. Give him a ball, a backyard, and a best friend to romp with, and he'll reward you with a lifetime of laughter and unconditional love.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
