The Roman Empire may have fallen, but ours is doing just fine. He's 27 pounds, handsome as can be, and would like a spot next to you on the couch.

Roman is 6 years old and came to us after his previous family could no longer care for him. He's a big boy with a soft heart and the gentle manners of someone who doesn't realize he's built like a small ottoman.

Roman isn't the guy who'll burst into a room and immediately start working it. He's a little shy at first and prefers to observe the situation before deciding whether everyone's trustworthy. Give him a few minutes, speak kindly, maybe produce a snack, and you'll watch the walls come down. Soon he's leaning into you for affection, settling beside his friends, and acting like the two of you have had standing couch plans for years.

And once he's comfortable, Roman's got jokes. He enjoys a game of fetch, although he's currently operating under a loose interpretation of the rules. He'll chase the toy with enthusiasm. The return portion remains under review.

Roman's also smart, food motivated, and already knows tricks like "sit" and "wait." He'd probably love learning more, especially if the compensation package includes treats. He gets along well with other dogs, loves lounging and cuddling with his friends, and has been gentle with everyone he meets.
