Meet Colin, a 7-pound 4 month old baby who was surrendered by his previous owner to a local shelter. When the shelter asked if we could take him, we went straight over and scooped him up, which happens to be Colin's preferred mode of transportation anyway.
We believe Colin may be a Chug otherwise known as a Chihuahua-Pug mix. He has the classic pug coloring, but someone added a little snout and turned the long leg setting all the way up. We can't say for certain what his DNA is, but our professional assessment is approximately 40% pug, 40% baby deer, and 20% squeaky toy enthusiast.
Colin was understandably nervous when we first met him. He curled up inside his oversized bed and tried to make himself very small. But the moment we began petting him the whole act fell apart. This boy LOVES people. Once he feels safe he's affectionate, snuggly and perfectly content being carried around like the precious lil baby he knows himself to be.
He is curious and playful with other dogs, has never met a person he didn't like, and is extremely interested in treats, squeaky toys, and whatever you happen to be doing. He's a bright little guy who is eager to please and catches on quickly.
Of course Colin is still very much a puppy. His future family should be prepared for all the usual puppy business, including house training, basic manners, socialization, supervision, and helping him grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult. He may be adorable enough to get away with anything, but please do not let him discover this!! His ideal adopter will not be gone long hours and have the time and patience to help him grow into the well-adjusted dog he's meant to be!
If you are looking for a tiny sidekick with very long legs, an enormous capacity for love, and absolutely no objection to being carried like a baby, Colin would like to be picked up immediately. Literally and figuratively. Please inquire today!
