Fifer has three legs, zero interest in being underestimated, and a highly calculated plan for obtaining belly rubs!! This 5 year old, 18 pound girl was found as a stray and impounded at a local shelter before coming to Pug Nation. Somewhere along the way, Fifer sustained a terrible injury to her back right leg. X-rays showed that the bones had shattered into too many pieces to repair, leaving amputation as the only option.
She recovered, got back on her paws, and decided three legs were plenty. Fifer is FAST. She runs, chases, plays, and keeps up with some of the sprightliest dogs at the rescue without asking anyone to slow down for her. If you meet her expecting a delicate little pug, she'll probably be halfway across the yard before you've finished the thought.
Fifer loves other dogs and is always game for a round of play, but people are where her true priorities lie. Her favorite move goes something like this: convince a human to chase her, wait until they get close, and then dramatically flop onto her back for belly rubs.
She's playful, cuddly, affectionate, and completely shameless about asking for attention. Fifer doesn't want anyone feeling sorry for her. Yes, Fifer moves through the world a little differently. She also moves through it quickly, joyfully, and with an impressive amount of confidence for someone who regularly throws herself at strangers' feet demanding affection.
If you're looking for a fast little lover girl with excellent comedic timing and more heart than she knows what to do with, Fifer's ready to run straight into your life. Please inquire today!
