Meet Pilot, now cleared for takeoff and accepting applications for a permanent copilot!!
Pilot was unceremoniously surrendered by his previous owner to a local shelter, where he developed a nasty case of kennel cough. He needed an immediate exit so we rushed over, scooped him up, and brought him to Pug Nation for the care and fresh start he deserved.
Now that his cough has cleared and he's feeling much better, Pilot's full personality has arrived at the gate. Spoiler alert: he is an absolute delight!!
It's pretty clear that life hasn't always been especially kind to this little guy. Pilot came to us with chronic skin allergies caused by fleas and some missing fur. Thankfully his skin is feeling much better now and the fur may grow back with time. For now, his upkeep is simple: consistent flea prevention and regular baths to help keep his skin comfortable.
Pilot's true passion is toys. Squeaky toys, specifically, and preferably several. He loves carrying them around in his mouth and proudly showing them off to anyone willing to admire his collection! Whether he believes they are prized possessions, personal accomplishments, or very small passengers is unclear. He also does well with other dogs and enjoys gentle play and frequent cuddle sessions.
He is also highly food motivated and already knows a few tricks, making him a fun little student with excellent snack-based career prospects. He has plenty of pep, a wonderfully silly side, and the energy to play, but underneath it all is a gentle old soul who really just wants to be loved.
Pilot is an enthusiastic consumer of human affection, with particular expertise in belly rubs and back scratches. Once you start, he sees no compelling reason for you to stop.
