Cruella's life changed overnight.

She and her companion, Chico, came to the Oswego County SPCA when their family lost their housing and had nowhere to go. Through no fault of their own, two beloved dogs suddenly found themselves looking for a new place to call home.

For Cruella, the transition was difficult. Change can be scary when your whole world has been turned upside down. When she first arrived in foster care, she was nervous, unsure of her surroundings, and trying to figure out what came next.

But what a difference a little time, patience, and love can make.

Today, Cruella has blossomed into a sweet and affectionate little dog who is ready to find a family of her own. Her foster mom has watched her come so far and feels she is ready to begin her next chapter.

One of Cruella's favorite things in the world is being close to her people. If you're sitting down, she would be more than happy to join you. If you're heading to bed, she'd love to come along. In fact, one of her favorite places to be is snuggled up beside her humans under the covers.

Cruella has done very well with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys canine companionship. She has adapted beautifully to living alongside other dogs and has even mastered the doggy door without any issues.

While she has made tremendous progress, Cruella would do best in a home with adults or older, respectful children who can continue to help her feel safe and secure. She has worked hard to build confidence, and we want to set her up for continued success.

What makes Cruella special is not just how far she has come, but how willing she has been to trust again. Despite everything that has changed in her life, she still wants to love and be loved.

She is looking for a family that will appreciate the quiet comfort of a dog who simply wants to be close to her people and enjoy the good things in life.

If Youre Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I've had a lot of changes in my life recently, but I'm ready for a forever home again. I love soft blankets, cozy beds, and being close to my people. If you let me snuggle beside you, I promise I'll take my job very seriously. I've worked hard to become brave, and now I'm hoping to find a family who will love me for exactly who I am.

After Submitting Your Application:

Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:

Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone both new and existing family members stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:

We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
