Glance is one of the cats saved from our most recent large-scale rescue, and while his story began in heartbreak, we are determined to make sure it ends in love.

If you have followed the news lately, you may already know a little bit about where Glance came from. He is one of the lucky ones — one of the survivors who made it out of a truly difficult situation and into safety. Now, for the first time, he has the chance to discover what it means to be loved, protected, and part of a family.

Glance is an 8-month-old boy with a gentle spirit and a quiet resilience that is impossible not to admire.

When he first meets new people, he can be a little shy. Given what he has been through, that is no surprise. But once Glance begins to feel safe and realizes he can trust you, his sweet side comes shining through. He absolutely loves pets and affection, and it is incredibly rewarding to watch him relax and lean into kindness.

One of the first things you may notice about Glance is that he is blind in one eye. But if you think that slows him down, Glance would like to respectfully disagree. He gets around just fine, keeps up with life beautifully, and does not let that stop him from enjoying the world around him.

He also loves other cats, which is wonderful news for anyone with a feline friend at home. Glance may truly enjoy having a cat buddy to help him continue building confidence and settling into home life. He has also done well around dogs and respectful children, making him a lovely option for many different kinds of families.

Glance is the kind of cat who represents exactly why rescue matters. He has already survived more than any young cat ever should, and yet he is still here — still learning to trust, still opening his heart, and still hoping for the life he has always deserved.

Now all he needs is the person willing to show him that his story does not end with what he survived… it begins with what comes next.

If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I may be a little shy when we first meet, but once I know I’m safe, I really love pets and being close to my people. I’ve been through more than any kitten should, but I’m ready to leave that behind and learn what it means to be loved. I’m blind in one eye, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I still play, explore, and enjoy life just like any other young cat. If you have patience, kindness, and maybe even a feline friend for me, I think I could be very happy in your home.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.

After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
