Trudi is one of the cats saved from our most recent large-scale rescue, and while her story began in heartbreak, she is more than ready for the part where everything changes.

At just 1 year old, Trudi has already survived more than any cat should. But if you met her today, what you would notice most is not what she came from — it is how fully she is embracing what comes next.

And what comes next, according to Trudi, should include:
clean water, regular meals, soft places to nap, and as much love and affection as humanly possible.

This sweet girl is absolutely leaning into the indoor life. She is soaking up every bit of kindness she can get and making it very clear that she has no interest in going back to a world where comfort was not guaranteed. Trudi is discovering that being safe, cared for, and adored is a pretty incredible arrangement, and she would like that arrangement to continue permanently.

She is sweeter than anyone could expect after surviving what she did. Trudi loves attention and affection and is looking for a family who will help her make up for lost time. She is the kind of cat who seems to understand that life has changed — and she is determined to enjoy every second of the good part.

Trudi also does well with cats, dogs, and respectful children, which makes her a lovely option for many homes. But wherever she lands, what she really wants most is simple: love, safety, and the chance to finally be someone’s cherished cat.

And yes — in addition to all of that, Trudi is also a glorious fluff ball, which only adds to her already considerable charm.

After everything she has survived, Trudi is ready for the life she always deserved.

If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I’ve been through a lot, but I’m not dwelling on that — I’m focused on the important things now, like clean water, regular meals, soft beds, and getting as much love as possible. I am sweeter than anyone might expect, and I am very ready to cash in on all the affection I missed out on before. If you’re looking for a soft, loving girl who is ready to be absolutely spoiled, I’m here for it.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.

After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
