** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You may need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery**
Meet Copper & Rusty!
These adorable brothers, born around May 13, 2026, came to the shelter as tiny kittens who were both sick and frightened of the world around them. Everything was scary, and they weren't quite sure if people could be trusted. Thankfully, with time, patience, and plenty of love (not to mention the canned food they quickly discovered is one of life's greatest treasures!), these boys have completely come out of their shells.
Today, Copper and Rusty have blossomed into affectionate, happy little lovebugs. They've learned that people are actually pretty wonderful, and now they seek out attention every chance they get. You'll often find them reaching through their cage doors, asking for pets, affection, and a little extra one-on-one time. The transformation they've made has been incredible, and we have no doubt they will continue to flourish in a loving forever home.
These brothers strike the perfect balance between playful and mellow. They enjoy kitten adventures and playtime, but they're also laid-back little gentlemen who are just as happy soaking up attention and relaxing with their favorite humans.
And let's talk about how stunning they are! While we aren't claiming they're actually Turkish Vans, they certainly look the part. With their gorgeous markings and luxurious medium-length coats, Copper and Rusty have all the elegance and beauty of a fancy breed without the fancy adoption price tag. Their beautiful coats will require regular brushing to keep them looking their best, so potential adopters should be prepared for a little extra grooming time. Trust us, they're worth every brush stroke.
Most importantly, Copper and Rusty are deeply bonded and must be adopted together. They adore one another and are almost always found cuddled up side-by-side. They play together, comfort each other, nap together, and navigate life as a team. Their bond is truly something special, and they would be lost without their best friend by their side.

Our adoption fee is $100.00 for kittens up to 6 months of age and $80 for cats 7 months and older. It includes: a microchip, spay or neuter, set of shots, de-worming, and a 1-year rabies vaccine (if old enough). Fees can be made by cash or credit card.
