** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You may need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery**

Meet Nova: A Little Star Who's Ready to Shine in Her Forever Home

Born around May 7, 2026, Nova may only be a few months old, but this sweet gray girl has already shown just how strong and resilient she is.

When Nova first came to us, she was a tiny, sickly kitten who barely wanted to eat. We were incredibly worried about her and hoped she would find the strength to pull through. Thankfully, one of our amazing foster families welcomed her into their home, and that's when Nova's story took a wonderful turn.

Since then, she has absolutely thrived. Nova discovered that food is actually pretty great, reached a healthy weight, grew stronger every day, and blossomed into the happy, playful kitten she was always meant to be. Watching her transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

These days, Nova spends her time doing all the important kitten things:

Racing around with her foster kitty sisters
Climbing cat trees like a professional explorer
Playing with every toy she can get her paws on
Making friends with both cats and dogs
Recharging for her next adventure with a cozy nap

One thing we've learned about Nova is that she truly loves the company of other cats. She has formed wonderful bonds with her foster kitty sisters and seems to thrive when she has feline friends around. Because of that, we'd love to see her adopted into a home with another friendly kitty companion.
