To say Moonstone was in rough shape when he was brought to GLPR would be an understatement. Unresponsive, severely emaciated, and with two broken legs, he had clearly experienced something horrific. While recovery was going to be an uphill climb, Moonstone proved that he was a fighter; and it would take a lot more to keep him down.
While he still carries some scars, (like an adorable wobble when he walks) Moonstone’s greatest concern now is deciding where he’s going to loaf for the day. Will it be on top of his cage? No, that was yesterday. Perhaps he’ll try the windowsill today. Finding the coziest resting place is Moonstone’s favorite hobby, and he takes it very seriously. In his foster home, he picks one spot and stays there for hours just preening, napping, and soaking in the scenery.
Moonstone is still learning that people are not always scary and, therefore, would do best in a peaceful home with a patient human willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. He does enjoy the company of other pigeons who give him the chance to observe first before interacting, and would also do well in a small, tranquil indoor flock of his own. Moonstone just requests lots of napping time, please!
