No Job. No Bills. Excellent Work-Life Balance.
Percy was born in April, and at roughly six months old, he has already achieved a level of personal freedom most adults spend their entire lives chasing.
Percy wakes up every morning with absolutely nowhere to be.
He currently lives on a big property with a whole crew of dogs, where he can wander outside, explore, play with his friends, and come back inside whenever the spirit moves him. Nobody knows exactly what Percy does out there. He leaves looking purposeful and returns several hours later having accomplished nothing we can document. Honestly, good for him.
Percy is a tiny, sleek, all-black little guy with enormous upright ears and a face that suggests he has just overheard something he probably wasn't supposed to hear. He is ridiculously cute—and fully aware that the world is a pretty interesting place when you're six months old and nobody has introduced you to taxes.
He’s sweet, affectionate, playful, confident, and curious. He does wonderfully off leash on the property and loves getting out and exploring, but that doesn't mean Percy needs ten acres of his own. Percy just likes having a life. Give him walks, adventures, things to sniff, places to go, and people to come home to, and this little man will be thrilled.
And Percy loves other dogs. He’s accustomed to having a whole canine social circle and would do beautifully with a pup sibling. He has apparently never considered that some dogs live alone. Percy currently has roommates, coworkers, neighbors, cousins and at least one guy he sees regularly but doesn't know that well.
He’s still young, so he has plenty of puppy basics to learn, but he already has something you can't teach: that wonderful little confidence that makes a dog excited about the world. Percy isn't afraid to go see what's happening. And when he's finished seeing what's happening, he comes home. That's Percy.
Independent enough to have an adventure. Social enough to want friends along. Sweet enough to come back looking for his people when the day's work—which, again, appears to be entirely self-appointed—is finished.
Somebody gets to take it from here. The walks. The car rides. The pup sibling. The favorite chair. The ridiculous nickname. The little black ears appearing around the corner every time somebody opens the refrigerator.
And one day, without really noticing when it happened, you'll realize this funny little guy has worked himself into every part of your life. Which will officially make Percy the only unemployed member of the household with a retirement plan.
And somehow, he'll have earned every bit of it.

What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher?
Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically specific breed mixes or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission.
Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before they're ready for adoption. Some dogs spend month seven over a year in our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support.
By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving home you're also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. It's a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn't about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they're finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you'll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
