Six Pounds. No Job. Requires Full-Time Staff.
Meet Cora, a 2 and a half-year-old, six-pound grey Yorkie who has somehow reached adulthood without ever developing an interest in independence.
Cora is young, but she's surprisingly chill. She's not waking up every morning looking for a problem. She's not trying to launch a startup. She has no interest in becoming the CEO of anything. Cora has one career goal, and it is being near you. That's it. That's the five-year plan.
If you're sitting on the couch, Cora would also like to be sitting on the couch. If you go into the kitchen, congratulations, we're going to the kitchen. Need to check the mail? Wonderful. Cora had actually been meaning to check the mail herself. Bathroom? She doesn't understand why you'd need privacy at this stage in the relationship.
She's basically a tiny grey coworker who contributes absolutely nothing to the household and still expects to be included in every meeting. And honestly, at six pounds, she gets away with it.
Cora would be happiest with someone who spends a lot of time at home or can make her a big part of their everyday life. She's perfectly content to have a quiet day as long as her person is nearby. She doesn't need you to entertain her every waking moment. She just needs confirmation that you have not left the country without consulting her.
She'd also love a pup sibling. Another little dog to hang out with, nap beside, follow around and occasionally consult when management makes a questionable decision would be right up her alley.
And then there's the obvious problem. Look at her. She's six pounds of grey Yorkie with that tiny face and the general appearance of somebody's elderly aunt who has very strong opinions about how you're loading the dishwasher.
She looks like she should own one good cardigan.
She looks like she's about to ask whether you've eaten.
She looks like she has a little bit of money tucked away somewhere and she's not telling the family where it is.
And underneath all that tiny-dog nonsense is just a wonderful little girl who wants what most of us want: her people, a comfortable place to land, somebody she loves nearby, and perhaps a small friend to discuss neighborhood affairs with.
Whoever adopts Cora is going to think they're bringing home a six-pound dog. They're not. You're hiring a supervisor. She'll follow you around. She'll keep tabs on operations. She'll occupy approximately nine inches of your couch and somehow become the center of your entire household.
And six months from now, you'll be declining plans because “I need to get home to Cora,” like she's waiting on you to relieve her from a twelve-hour shift. She isn't.
She's probably been asleep. But she'll be very glad you're home.
Whoever gets this ridiculous little girl is going to be so, so lucky. Cora isn't looking for much—just her person, her spot beside them, and a lifetime appointment as Assistant Manager of Wherever You're Going.

What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher?
Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically purebreds or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quicklyeven with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission.
Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before theyre ready for adoption. Some dogs spend monthseven over a yearin our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support.
By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving homeyoure also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. Its a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.
