Meet Gretl – A Sweet Girl Learning to Feel Safe!

Gretl arrived in foster care alongside Leisl, and she’s slowly discovering that the world can be a safe and happy place. This sweet, sensitive girl can be nervous in new surroundings, but underneath those worries is an affectionate pup who craves human connection. Once she feels comfortable enough to approach you, she’ll happily soak up all the pets and cuddles you can give!

Gretl sleeps quietly in her crate overnight, although she’s still learning to feel comfortable going into it and being left alone. Her house training is still being assessed, and she can be selective with food, so she’ll need patience, consistency, and time to settle into a routine.

Outdoors, Gretl is energetic and gets very excited around unfamiliar dogs, barking and trying to approach them on walks. She currently lives well with Leisl, so a calm, confident, mature canine companion may be a good fit with slow, supervised introductions. She’ll benefit from an adopter who can help her build confidence and work on calm leash manners. Her compatibility with cats and children is still unknown.

Gretl is still learning to navigate the world, and she needs a loving, understanding home willing to give her the time and support she deserves. With patience, positive reinforcement, and plenty of affection, we believe this sweet girl has every opportunity to blossom into a happy, confident companion.
