Blacky had a difficult start to life, but this sweet, friendly girl is ready for a fresh beginning! Sadly, her owners never returned for her after she was taken to the vet, but thankfully, a kind rescuer stepped in to give her the second chance she deserves. Now, Blacky is preparing to come into our care from our rescue partners on November 7th, and we can’t wait to help her find the loving forever family she’s been waiting for!

A Friendly Girl with So Much Love to Give:

Blacky is a social, affectionate girl who gets along well with women, men, children, other dogs, and cats. She enjoys being petted and is comfortable living indoors. She has a medium energy level, making her a lovely potential companion for a family looking for a balance of companionship, playtime, and relaxation.

She is crate-trained, isn't known to bark excessively, and isn't destructive beyond enjoying a good chew on her toys. She is also not food-aggressive, which is helpful information for her future family. Blacky does not necessarily need another dog in the home and could potentially thrive as your one-and-only companion, too!

A Little More About Blacky:

Blacky is still learning to walk confidently on a leash, so her new family should be prepared to continue working with her through gentle, positive training. She does not currently show leash reactivity toward people or other dogs. She travels well in the car, although she can feel a little nervous, so keeping her safely secured is important.

She would love a home with a fenced yard where she can enjoy the sunshine and spend time outdoors. That said, she can also adapt to apartment living as long as she receives regular outdoor potty breaks and opportunities to enjoy her surroundings.

What Blacky Is Looking For:

Blacky is looking for a family who will give her patience, stability, affection, and the chance to experience all the wonderful things a dog deserves. Whether it's sunbathing in the yard, playing with her favourite toys, enjoying family time, or curling up for some affection, we hope her next chapter will be filled with comfort and security.

They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Their keen intuition and strong bond with their owners make them wonderful family pets and reliable working dogs in tasks such as herding livestock or in search and rescue missions.
