Rollie has a highly sophisticated system for making friends:

1. Approach human
2. Roll onto back
3. Present belly
4. Collect rubs
5. Repeat until human understands this is now a permanent arrangement.

Rollie is about 7 years old, weighs 18 pounds, and really did come preloaded with the perfect name.

He was relinquished after his previous owners divorced and neither person was able to continue caring for him. Rollie ended up banished to the yard during an intense heatwave until a concerned neighbor stepped in, took him out of that situation, and brought him to Pug Nation.

We are very glad they did, because Rollie belongs inside. Preferably on something soft. Ideally with a person actively rubbing his belly.

Rollie is ridiculously friendly and loves just about everyone he meets. People? Huge fan. Other dogs? Also excellent. Anyone willing to give him attention? Congratulations, you are now one of his closest friends.

At 7 years old, Rollie has landed in that ideal sweet spot. He is past the tiny puppy nonsense, but still has plenty of pep in his step. He is happy, social, affectionate, and ready to accompany his new person through the day, then dramatically roll over when he decides it is time to be admired.

After having his entire life turned upside down through no fault of his own, Rollie is not asking for much. He would simply like to be inside, included, loved, and provided with reasonable access to human hands at belly level.
