Edwina is 9 years old, weighs 23 pounds, and cannot be bribed with treats. We respect a lady with principles.

She was unceremoniously dropped off at a local shelter by her previous owner. We don't know why she was left behind or what her life looked like before that, but we knew the shelter was no place for this gentle girl. So we went down, picked her up, and brought her to Pug Nation in hopes of finding her the forever home she deserves.

Now that we have gotten to know her we can officially confirm that Edwina is a dream.

She is shy and reserved when she first meets someone, and since food does absolutely nothing to impress her, you will have to earn her attention the old-fashioned way. Sit near her. Talk to her. Give her a little time to decide you seem trustworthy.

Then, without much warning, she will wander over, climb into your lap, and plop herself down like the two of you have had this arrangement for years.

Edwina is completely enamored with her people once she feels comfortable. She has the gentlest disposition and is a total lover girl at heart. She does not need to be the center of a loud, chaotic party. She just wants to be near someone kind, preferably while occupying their lap and looking extremely pleased with her decision.

She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a particular appreciation for mellow canine friends who understand that cuddling is a legitimate group activity. A calm dog who wants a snuggle buddy could be a lovely match for her.

We don't know everything Edwina experienced before coming to us, but we can already see her learning that people can be kind and life can feel safe. Every day, she opens up a little more. Now she just needs a home to call her own...could it be with you? Please inquire today!
