Hi everyone! My name is Maya, and I'm a sweet 4-year-old Maltipoo girl weighing about 22 pounds. I have a little story to share with you, and I'm hoping that by the time you finish reading it, you might just fall in love with me!

I'm already spayed, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and crate trained.

I will travel from north California to Ridgefield, WA by the middle of November to live with my foster family. I can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

Here is my story:

I don't remember exactly how I ended up all alone on the streets of Southern California. I just know that one day, I found myself in a scary shelter, surrounded by unfamiliar sounds, strange faces, and so many other dogs who were just as frightened as I was.

My beautiful fur was so badly matted and tangled that it hurt. I couldn't even remember the last time someone had brushed me, given me a bath, or told me I was a good girl.

I was scared, uncomfortable, and wondering if anyone would ever notice me.

Then something wonderful happened!

Some kind humans saw me and decided that my story wasn't going to end in that shelter. They rescued me and gave me something I hadn't felt in a long time... HOPE!

My fur was in such terrible condition that I needed a medical shave. Yep, they shaved almost all my beautiful hair off! I know I might look a little funny right now, but just wait until my gorgeous curls grow back! I'm going to be one beautiful little princess!

But here's something I really want you to know about me...

Even after everything I've been through, **I still LOVE people!**

I absolutely adore humans, especially those little humans called kids! They're wonderful, and I love being around them.

And other dogs? Oh, I love them too! Big dogs, little dogs, fluffy dogs, silly dogs... I don't care! I'm happy to make friends with all of them!

Now, I do have one little confession. Cats and I aren't exactly best friends, so I'd really prefer a home without any kitty roommates. I hope that's okay!

There's also something special about one of my eyes. It needs a little lubrication regularly to keep it comfortable. It's just a little extra care that my future family will need to help me with. I promise I'll make up for it with lots and lots of love!

Oh, and before I forget, I'm already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I'm all ready to start my new life!
