Hi. My name is Breccan.
My name means spotted, and while I may be a little different from other dogs, I promise there's a whole lot of love behind this one good eye of mine!
I'm eight years old, a handsome 30 kg Pointer and Akbash mix, and I'm hoping my next chapter will be the one I've been waiting for all along.
A home. A family. And the chance to enjoy the good things in life.

Here's My Story
When I was younger, I lived near a children's park with my dog friends. Families and children were part of my everyday world, and I enjoyed being around people and receiving their kindness.
Somehow, life took a different turn, and I ended up in a shelter.
No one knows exactly how I lost my eye, but I struggled to protect myself there and sometimes had difficulty getting enough to eat among the other dogs.
After two months, I was moved to a boarding facility, where I lived in a cage.
And there I waited.
At eight years old, I'd say I've earned the right to put those difficult days behind me and discover what a comfortable, happy life can feel like.
Thankfully, my past hasn't taken away my friendly nature.
I'm a sociable boy who enjoys the company of other dogs, and I still have a playful streak.
Give me the opportunity to spend time with my friends, explore the outdoors, or enjoy a little fun, and you'll see that there's plenty of life left in this gentleman!
I'm also happy to settle down and enjoy some quiet company when the day's excitement is over.
I appreciate a good balance of activity and relaxation, and I would love to share both with my future family.
A Few Things I Already Know
Please don't let my age fool you.
I'm a mature gentleman, not a dog who's ready to give up on adventure!
I have a moderate energy level and enjoy getting outside, exploring, and socializing.
A fenced yard would be a lovely bonus, but it's not essential as long as my family provides regular outdoor exercise and opportunities to play.
My missing eye doesn't stop me from enjoying myself, either. I can still romp around, make friends, and get on with being a happy dog.
I have some leash-walking experience, although I'll need continued guidance to improve my skills.
I'm also still learning my house-training routine, so patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement will help me succeed.
I've been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and I'm ready to find my own family.
I've lived in an area where cats were present without any known problems, although my compatibility with them hasn't been fully confirmed.
Careful introductions will be important.
What I Want Now
I'd love a comfortable home where I can enjoy my days at a pace that suits me.
Morning walks, a little sunshine, the chance to stretch my legs, and friendly faces to greet me would make an excellent start.
If there's a yard to investigate, even better!
And when I'm ready for a rest, I'd love a soft bed where I can snooze without a worry in the world.
I still want to play and make friends.
I still want to explore, enjoy companionship, and be included in family life.
And I certainly wouldn't turn down a little affection along the way.
I know I'm not a puppy anymore, but I have a wonderful stage of life ahead of me if someone gives me the opportunity.
My family won't need to entertain me every minute or make my life extraordinary.
I simply hope they'll appreciate a friendly, affectionate dog who can enjoy the everyday pleasures of being loved.
I have spent enough time in places where my world was small.
Now I'd love the freedom to enjoy the sunshine, the companionship of people and dogs, and the comfort of knowing I have somewhere safe to return to at the end of the day.
If You're Looking For...
A handsome, mature companion with a playful side.
A friendly boy who enjoys the company of other dogs.
A dog who appreciates outdoor adventures as well as peaceful afternoons.
A loving companion whose leash skills and house-training can be developed with patience.
A deserving senior who still has plenty of affection and enjoyment to share.
Perhaps you have room in your life for a big boy like me.
You don't need to feel sorry for me because I have only one eye.
I'd much rather you see the dog who is still here: a sociable, playful gentleman who wants to enjoy his days and share his life with someone kind.
I can't promise to know every household routine from the beginning.
I'll need your help as I settle in, and I'll do best with someone willing to let me learn at my own pace.
In return, you'll have the chance to get to know a boy with a resilient spirit and a whole lot of living still to do.
I'd love my golden years to mean more than simply getting older.
I'd love them to mean walks with my favourite person, friendships with other dogs, a comfortable place to sleep, and the freedom to enjoy being myself.
I'm Breccan. I'm eight years old, I've still got plenty of life in me, and I'm ready for someone to give this gentleman his chance.
Maybe the home I've been waiting for is yours.
Yours Truly,
Breccan
