ROMY

Labrador Retriever
🇺🇸
Bellingham, Washington
April 14th
female, large, young

DESCRIPTION

Hi, my name is Romy! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Social, active
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, Romy should be fine living with respectful kids of any age.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history with cats but would likely be fine with dog-savvy, confident cats. Slow and supervised introductions required.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, Romy would likely benefit from having a well-socialized dog to learn from! Introductions held at WHS.
-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended due to energy levels and size.
-Potty Trained: Needs a little work - still a puppy!
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes she is required to be signed up for puppy prep classes.
-Energy Level: High!
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes a spay
-Additional Information: Romy is a wonderful young lab girl who is looking for a stable, permanent home. Like any puppy, Romy is going to need: consistent positive reinforcement training, a predictable routine, responsible socialization with people and other animals, stability, and plenty of exercise / mental stimulation. Her adopter(s) will need to be home often / have a flexible schedule, as puppies cannot be left alone long hours. Romy has some typical lab behaviors already like being people oriented, happy-go-lucky, and energetic! She will be a great companion for the right family that can provide her with the continued training she needs.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
