DESCRIPTION
Hi, my name is Ray! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Ray is shy and timid. New environments are overwhelming for her. Once comfortable, she is talkative and affectionate
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, slow supervised introductions are okay. Up to counselors discretion
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks! Dogs are very scary for Ray
-Can Live with Kids: Teenaged + may be okay. Up to counselors discretion. Ray would prefer a quiet environment with consistent routine.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, she has only been indoors. Outdoors may be overwhelming
-History of Litter Box Issues: Yes, Ray was surrendered due to eliminating outside the litter box with a new baby in the home. Ray has been consistently using her litter box at the shelter. Not using her litter box is likely due to stress of the new baby and change in routine.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a spay and MC!
Additional Information:
Ray is timid and shy. Once she is comfortable, she is affectionate and talkative. Ray will take a longer time to adjust to her new home and people. She would benefit from a slow introduction to the home and a consistent routine. Ray came to the shelter with Rome. She would likely do well with other cats with slow supervised introductions. Dogs are too scary for Ray and she will need to be in a home without dogs. Ray was surrendered to the shelter for not using her litterbox. This was potentially stress-related due to the presence of a new baby in the home. At the shelter, Ray has been using her litterbox just fine. She would benefit from a quiet home that can provide a consistent routine. Ray is ready for her purr-ever home!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
