-Additional Information:
Barney is a sweet and social boy who will likely adjust well to most homes. He's a happy-go-lucky dog who absolutely LOVES people. He's his happiest when he's with his person, and would therefore do best in a home where someone is present often. Barney's history is a bit of a mystery. He came to WHS as a stray with two other dogs, but other than that we don't know much about his past. What we do know is that he's a loveable goofball who's going to make someone very happy. It doesn't seem like Barney's had much training (the only trick he knows is "sit"). Like any rescue dog, he is going to benefit greatly from consistent positive reinforcement based training, a predictable routine, and lots of TLC.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
