Bella is a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever/Hound mix weighing 50 pounds and the proud mother of Duke, Queenie, and Apollo. With her nose to the ground and a carefree smile on her face, Bella is the quintessential “old soul” in a happy hound’s body.

She isn’t one for the fast lane—Bella prefers a soft trot to a sprint—but she moves through life with a gentle grace that is impossible to ignore. While she might not be a toy enthusiast, Bella is a world-class professional in the art of affection. She values human connection above all else, but would not mind going home with other dogs or cats.

What makes Bella special is her thoughtful, sensitive nature. When she wants your attention, she’ll let you know with her beautiful, distinct hound voice. She is a low-key energy companion who is best suited for someone who appreciates a relaxed pace and quiet moments together. Her walks are her favorite part of the day, though she will happily pause to investigate interesting scents with her nose pressed to the ground.

All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own.
