Ty is an 11‐month‐old Mini Poodle, a tiny 10‐pound black‐and‐white sweetheart whose story is nothing short of miraculous. When our rescue partner first found him behind a gas station, he was mistaken for a senior dog on the brink of death. His eyes were sealed shut with infection, his body was painfully matted, and he was covered in pus. At the vet, they discovered one eye had ruptured and needed to be removed, and the other required intensive treatment. But once he was shaved down and examined, the truth emerged — this wasn’t an old dog at all, but a puppy who had simply endured far too much.

With time, medical care, and the patience of a devoted foster home, Ty transformed. Today, he’s bright, social, and full of life. He gets along beautifully with dogs, kids, and even cats, making him an easy addition to many types of families.
Despite everything he’s been through, Ty radiates sweetness. He loves companionship, gentle affection, and being part of a loving routine. His resilience is remarkable, and his capacity for trust is even more so. he is the life of all parties!

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
