Meet Winslow, a 1.5-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix weighing 42 pounds with a gentle personality and an easygoing charm. Winslow was rescued alongside his siblings from a hoarding case where they spent all of their lives living outside, with little to no human contact. He is now safe and loved while he searches for a forever family of his own.
Winslow is a friendly and affectionate boy who enjoys the simple things in life: good company, leisurely walks, and plenty of love from his people. One of Winslow’s favorite things in the world is a good butt scratch, and once you start, he’ll gladly lean in and ask for more. He walks wonderfully on a leash and loves taking his time to sniff and explore everything around him, but he always stays close and connected to his person throughout the walk.
Winslow is great with other dogs, cats, and kids who can respect his boundaries while getting comfortable. He will happily play with his canine friends but does not need to run a marathon to settled down at night - he is truly calm, cool, and collected. With his loving heart, relaxed personality, and loyal nature, Winslow is ready to leave his difficult past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family who will give him the love and security he deserves.
Winslow is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Given the conditions Winslow originated from, upon rescue, he tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Winslow has completed his Heartworm treatment.
*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*
