Trixie - Jack Russell Terrier and Treeing Walker Coonhound Dog for Adoption in Petersburg, Virginia

Trixie does not walk so much as follow her nose. She stops to sniff, trots to catch up, and stops again a few feet later, and every one of those stops is important business.

Trixie is a 7 month old Walker hound and Jack Russell mix, about 15 pounds. She came in as an owner surrender with her sister Dixie, who is also available. They are adoptable separately, so Trixie can go home on her own.

She is playful and always up for an adventure, and she is at her best outside with somewhere new to explore. Someone who enjoys a slow, wandering walk and lets her take her time will have a very happy dog on the other end of the leash. Trixie is dog friendly and could fit in well alongside another friendly dog at home.

Before you apply, a couple of honest notes. We cannot tell you how she would do living with kids or cats. She is a young hound mix with plenty of puppy energy, so she needs daily walks and play time.

Trixie is living in a foster home, so visits with her are set up by appointment. Email us at adoptpetersburg@gmail.com to arrange one or to learn more today.
