Jack - Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Petersburg, Virginia

Jack is a seven year old male Shih Tzu with a soft gold and white coat. He came to us from a home with children, and he does well with kids.

Jack has a good, easygoing temperament. Most of the puppy is behind him at seven, and what is left is a small, steady dog who wants to be included in what his people are doing. He would suit a family with kids just as well as a quieter home.

A few honest things before you apply. In his last home Jack was not getting as much attention as he was used to, and in that time he started having accidents in the house and chewing things. He will do best with someone who is around a good part of the day and can give him a steady routine, with regular trips outside built in. His coat also needs regular grooming. He has not met cats, so we cannot tell you how he would do living with one.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
