Twix - Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Lafayette, California

Meet Twix – A Fluffy Little Sweetheart Ready for His Forever Home!

Meet Twix, quite possibly the prettiest little long-haired Dachshund/Chihuahua mix around! At approximately 10 months old, this handsome little guy has the softest, most beautiful coat and an equally lovable personality.

Twix came to us from a hoarding situation in California’s Central Valley, but thankfully, those days are behind him. He’s now thriving in foster care, gaining confidence, and showing off more of his happy, affectionate personality every day!

Despite his difficult start in life, Twix has been incredibly sweet with everyone he’s met. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and genuinely enjoys attention and affection. He’s a smart, eager-to-please young dog who wants nothing more than to be loved and included.

Twix enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely do well with a friendly canine companion. We also believe he could be a good match for a family with respectful children past the toddler stage. With proper introductions, he may also do well in a home with cats.

This adorable boy is food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding! He’s learning to enjoy walks and explore the world around him. He’s still working on his house training but continues to make wonderful progress. Like any young dog, he’ll benefit from consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, and a family committed to helping him succeed.

Twix’s ideal home would be one filled with love, patience, and plenty of affection. He deserves a family who understands that he’s still young and learning, but who will also appreciate just how far he’s already come. Whether he’s enjoying a walk, playing with canine friends, or soaking up attention from his favorite humans, Twix is simply happy to be part of the family.

It’s amazing how resilient dogs can be, and Twix is a perfect example. His past may not have been ideal, but his future is incredibly bright!

If you’re looking for a sweet, beautiful, affectionate young companion with so much love to give, Twix might just be your perfect match.
