Meet Straw
Straw is another tiny Fresno survivor ready to leave his past behind and find the family who will show him just how good life can be.
At approximately 10 weeks old and only about 3 pounds, Straw is a teeny little guy with a beautiful dirty-blonde coat and an adorable face. He is likely a Dachshund/Jack Russell mix and we expect him to stay small, probably around 12 pounds full grown.
Straw came to us from the same difficult situation in Fresno as Butternut Squash, although the two are not related. Thankfully, puppies are incredibly resilient, and you would never know this little guy had a rough beginning.
He is social, confident, curious, playful, and busy. He loves other dogs and is at the perfect age to continue learning about people, places, sounds, routines, and everything else that comes with becoming a well-rounded adult dog.
Like any 10-week-old puppy, Straw needs much more than just love. His forever family should have a flexible schedule and be financially prepared to commit to professional training, continued socialization, exercise, structure, and everything else that comes with raising a puppy.
His ideal home would have a secure yard where he can safely explore and burn off some puppy energy. Another friendly, playful dog would be a huge bonus and could give Straw a canine buddy to learn from and grow up alongside.
He may only be 3 pounds right now, but this tiny guy has an entire lifetime ahead of him.
Straw is ready to make sure the rest of it is a good one.
