Meet Shelby Lynn a 5 Year
Old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier Mix. Sweet little Shelby Lynn has had more heartbreak and change in the last few months than any little dog should have to endure.

Shelby lost both of her beloved owners just 18 days apart. Suddenly, the only home and people she had ever known were gone. She was taken in by family members who lovingly welcomed her into their home, but the busy household-with lots of kids and a much more active daily routine-was understandably overwhelming for a little girl already trying to process so much loss.

Her family knew Shelby deserved a quieter environment where she could decompress, feel safe, and begin her next chapter, so they reached out to rescue to help find her the right home.

Shelby is shy and a little fearful when she first meets you, but give her some time and patience, and you'll discover the sweetest little girl. Once she feels comfortable, her personality begins to shine.

She has the cutest little prance when she walks in her harness and leash, and she seems to really enjoy car rides! In fact, when it was time to leave with her new foster, Shelby quickly climbed right into her foster mom's lap-as if she knew she was off on a brand new adventure.

We are told Shelby does well with other animals and children, but because she has experienced so much upheaval and stress recently, we believe she would do best in a calmer home with older children, if any. She needs someone willing to let her settle in at her own pace and show her that she is safe, loved, and home for good.

Shelby Lynn is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and will be spayed and microchipped.

After losing everything familiar, this little girl deserves something simple: A quiet home. A patient heart. And a forever family who will never let her feel alone again.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
