Meet Sushi!

Sushi is a 19-pound Rat Terrier with a sweet personality, a handsome little face, and all the makings of a fantastic companion.

This good boy is neutered, fully vetted, heartworm negative, house trained, AND crate trained. Basically, Sushi has already checked off quite a few boxes on his resume.

Sushi is friendly with people and other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He hasn't been around cats yet, so we're not sure what his opinion of the feline population might be.

True to his Rat Terrier roots, Sushi is a bright, curious little guy who will enjoy having a family that keeps him involved in daily life. Walks, playtime, exploring the yard, toys, and adventures with his people are all right up his alley. And at just 19 pounds, he's the perfect size to tag along without taking up the entire backseat.

Sushi is ready for the important part now: finding his people and making himself permanently at home.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
