Cindy Bear - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Life recently threw a heartbreaking curveball for two sweet senior girls, Cindy Bear and Misty Blue, when their beloved owner's health declined and they had to transition into an assisted living facility. Because their temporary caregiver is facing an upcoming surgery very soon, time is of the absolute essence, and these bonded ladies urgently need to find their next soft landing before then. While keeping them together in their golden years is the ultimate dream, finding them safe, loving homes-whether as a pair or separately-is top priority to beat the clock.
Cindy Bear is a sweet, happy 10-year-old Chihuahua who handles change with grace, though she might offer a little protective bark at first until she knows you are a friend. Once she is familiar with you, she turns into an easy-going, affectionate shadow who loves soaking up attention. She currently weighs a little over 20 pounds, so she's working on trimming down to make things easier on those little senior legs. She is already spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and current on heartworm prevention.
Misty Blue is a gentle, 9-year-old Chiweenie looking for her next chapter alongside her best friend. She is a quiet, easy-going soul around the house who loves attention, though she will let out a little sympathetic whimper or cry to narrate her car rides. Like Cindy Bear, she weighs over 20 pounds and could stand to shed a few pounds to support her frame. She is also spayed, fully vaccinated, and up-to-date on heartworm prevention.
Both girls are currently living harmoniously with other dogs and a cat in their temporary home, proving they are adaptable to multi-pet environments. Because they haven't had much recent exposure to children, a quiet adult-only home or one with older, respectful kids would suit their senior lifestyle best. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
