Meet Summer, a five month old Chihuahua/Shih Tzu weighing 9 pounds.

Summer is a little ray of sunshine just waiting to warm your heart. She came to us as part of an "oops" litter when her previous owner could no longer care for her and her siblings. It’s been a big change for this young pup, so she can be a little unsure at first—but underneath that is a truly sweet and gentle girl.

With her adorable scruffy coat and likely mix of many breeds, Summer is as unique as they come. Her coat will need light grooming and regular brushing to keep her comfortable and looking her best.

Summer may take a little time to feel confident, but with patience, love, and encouragement, she’ll continue to come out of her shell and show her affectionate side. Like all puppies, she’ll benefit from consistent training and positive reinforcement to help her learn good manners. Ongoing socialization is also essential, helping her become comfortable with new people, environments, and other animals as she grows.
