DESCRIPTION
Meet Loona, a one year and a half year old Chihuahua mix weighing 7 pounds.
Loona is a sweet girl who’s still finding her footing, but has so much love to give once she feels safe. She came to us after being left with a family member and never picked up, and she’s currently adjusting to all the changes that come with shelter life.
Right now, Loona can be a little head shy and unsure, so she’ll need someone patient who can go slow and let her build trust at her own pace. But give her a little time, and you’ll see her transform—once she warms up, it’s like she becomes a whole new dog, showing her affectionate and loving personality.
She’s been around kids, gets along with other dogs, and is working on her potty training. With consistency, kindness, and a stable home, she’s going to thrive.
Loona is the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with her person—the kind of connection that’s truly special. If you’re willing to give her the time she needs, she’ll reward you with a lifetime of love.
This pet is available for adoption on 4.14.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

ABOUT: CHIHUAHUA DOG BREED
The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
