DESCRIPTION
Hi, my name is Biscoff! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Friendly, silly, happy boy, energetic, big ol' puppy who is still learning!
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history with children. Recommending older dog-savvy kids ages 12+, but this will be up to a counselor's discretion.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history with cats. Introductions will need to be slow and structured to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: Biscoff has tested well with other dogs at WHS and would likely do well with another similarly-matched canine friend. Initial intros done at WHS.
-Can do Apartment Living: Ideally no due to size, energy level, and breed. May be okay in larger apartments/condos that allow large pit mixes. Up to counselor's discretion.
-Potty Trained: Appears to be
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson
-Energy Level: Medium
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
-Additional Information:
Biscoff is a young and active boy looking for his perfect match! This smiley goofball came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't know anything about his history. What we do know is he LOVES people, but has a hard time containing his excitement sometimes. This comes out in some rude puppy-like behaviors (i.e., jumping and mouthing) that Mr. Biscoff needs to work on. Biscoff would benefit greatly from consistent positive reinforcement based training and a predictable routine. He'd do best with someone who is dog-experienced and able/willing to put in time for his training. Biscoff is young (only about a year old), which means he's still got lots of energy. He will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him feeling his best. Biscoff will need to be adopted by someone with a flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend with him.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
