DESCRIPTION
Hi, my name is Sapphire! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Shy, affectionate, mellow
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, should be OK with slow and structured introductions
-Can Live with Dogs: Might be OK with a very cat-savvy dog, but probably prefers no dogs
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, should be OK with cat-savvy kids roughly 8+. Up to counselor's discretion
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Not required but very strongly recommended
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a spay and microchip
Sapphire has been a sweet and gentle mom to her kits, but seems ready to move on from litter-watching duties. Adopting one of her kits along with her would be a fine choice, but its time for this family to branch out! Being strays, we don't know a ton about these kitties. They have shown a lot of courage and slow growth in their comfort around people. Sapphire definitely takes time to adjust to new situations, but is very sweet all through that journey. A quiet home of patient people would be ideal for Sapphie, and it's likely that in time, she will show lots more personality than we've gotten to see at the shelter!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
