Tinkerbell - Presa Canario Dog Available for Adoption in Bellingham, Washington

TINKERBELL

Presa Canario
🇺🇸
Bellingham, Washington
June 2nd
female, large, young

DESCRIPTION

Hi, my name is Tinkerbell! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Friendly, adventurous, energetic young dog! Cautious at first, but affectionate and silly once comfortable.
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history, but likely not used to being around kids. Dog-savvy kids ages 12+ may be okay. Up to counselor's discretion.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need SLOW and STRUCTURED introductions to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, would likely do well with another energetic and playful dog of similar size. May overwhelm small or senior dogs. Initial introductions done here at WHS to ensure it's a good match.
-Can do Apartment Living: No thanks! Tinkerbell is a large one year old dog with lots of energy - she would do best in a home with a yard.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson
-Energy Level: Medium/high
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a spay
-Additional Information:
Tinkerbell is a young mixed breed dog looking for a stable and loving home. Not much is known about her history, but from what we've seen here at the shelter, she is a sweet and attentive pup who is eager to please. Tinkerbell likely does not have much in the way of training, but she's highly motivated by food and praise. We think with a dedicated person, she will excel at training. Tinkerbell is only about a year old and therefore still has lots of puppy energy. She's going to need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her occupied and feeling her best. She would do best with an active person looking for a doggo to bring along on all their adventures. Tinkerbell should not be left alone long hours, so she'll need to go into a home where someone is present often to give her the attention she needs.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
