Tiny in size but overflowing with love, Sukie is the kind of dog who has a way of making everyone smile. This sweet 7-year-old girl came to us when her previous family could no longer care for her. While that change is never easy, Sukie has been adjusting well and has quickly become a favorite among our staff. Sukie loves being around people and has a gentle, affectionate personality that shines through wherever she goes. Despite everything she's been through, she remains loving, resilient, and ready to find her next chapter.
Life in a shelter can be overwhelming, especially for a dog as incredibly small as Sukie. The sights, sounds, and constant activity can be a lot for a little dog, and we'd love to see her settled into a quiet, loving home where she can truly relax and be someone's cherished companion. At 7 years old, Sukie is in the perfect stage of life, past the puppy chaos but still with many wonderful years ahead of her. She's looking for a family that understands the commitment of pet ownership and is ready to provide her with the love, care, and security she deserves for the rest of her life. Sukie does have significant dental disease, and her teeth are currently in poor condition. Before going home, she will receive the dental care she needs, which will be provided by WHS. Once she's feeling her best, she'll be ready to start her new life with her forever family.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
