Nougat - Pigeon Bird for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

Somebody spotted Nougat strolling across a parking lot and called in a chicken. It's an honest mistake! Nougat is a big, solid domestic pigeon, and out on that asphalt he must have looked wildly out of place. He was. Domestic pigeons don't have the street smarts of their feral cousins, and a senior gentleman like Nougat had no business fending for himself out there. Luckily, the only chicken-like thing about him is his size. He's brave, he's sweet, and he is finished with parking lots.

His coloring does his name justice. He's warm caramel from beak to tail, a shade deeper along the neck, with pale cream rings around his eyes and a soft pink beak. Set him next to a candy bar and you might reach for the wrong one.

Nougat's days are full, in a leisurely way. He likes to keep you company while you go about your business. He sits in houseplants as if he grew there. He watches the world from the window, naps wherever it's quiet, and settles onto the couch like he pays rent. He also has A Brick. It is his favorite. We don't ask questions. And when the occasion calls for it, he looks very handsome in his green pigeon pants.
