Krause
Meet Krause, a quiet, chill, and super loving eleven-year-old who weighs ten pounds! His energy needs are modest — a couple of slow, short walks and he's good to go. He loves people and is the definition of a lap dog!
Krause approaches new situations with a bit of caution, but stays calm with the encouraging touch of his person. He loves being held. He's great with kids, jumping up on laps and happily getting passed around. He's great with cats too, and would likely do best paired with calm, gentle-natured dogs closer to his own size.
Krause does wonderfully on a leash, though his pace is slow and steady — he can keep up, but tires easily. He does well in a play pen, mostly using pee pads successfully and also going outside. He doesn't know any commands yet, but he's food motivated, so his foster suspects he could learn with the right encouragement.
With only three teeth, Krause loves a lick mat and soft food, though that doesn't stop him from enjoying a good chew toy too. He's a champion sleeper, snoozing through the night with a strong nap game during the day. His favorite thing to do is sit with his person and sniff around the yard.
Krause would do great in an apartment or house, alone or with other pets, though he's best matched with someone who's home often and wants a quiet, calm, affectionate senior companion.
When Krause smiles and wags his tail seeing you, it's the best. He doesn't ask for much, and he's so sweet — anyone looking to adopt a senior dog bestie will win with Krause.
