Sable is a 7-month-old Retriever mix with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. When she first arrived at the shelter, she needed surgery on her hip due to a dislocation, but this brave girl handled it like a champion and has been recovering beautifully. Now that she’s had time to heal, Sable is doing very well and is ready to find a family of her own.

She’s a sweet, affectionate pup who enjoys attention and companionship, with that lovable retriever personality shining through more every day. Sable still has all the playful charm and curiosity you’d expect from a young dog, and she’s excited to enjoy life to the fullest.

Sable would thrive in a home that can continue giving her love, guidance, and a little encouragement as she grows. If you’re looking for a gentle, resilient companion with a bright future ahead of her, Sable is ready to steal your heart.

Sable's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!

A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application.
