Meet Boone ,a sweet senior hound with gentle eyes, a loving heart, and one simple wish: a home to finally call his own.

Boone came to us as a stray, and while we may never know what his previous life looked like, we do know one thing for certain that he does not deserve to spend his golden years in a shelter kennel. This handsome older gentleman deserves soft beds, slow mornings, peaceful walks, and a family who will show him the love he has likely missed for far too long.

Boone still enjoys getting outside for walks and sniffing around, taking in the world at his own pace. But because of his age and being heartworm positive, he’s happiest living the easygoing life. A comfy couch, a sunny spot to nap, and someone by his side are truly all this sweet boy asks for.

Boone is up to date on his vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and will be neutered before heading into his forever home. Even though he is heartworm positive it is completely treatable. Once treated Boone can live out the rest of his years happy and healthy.

Senior dogs like Boone are so often overlooked, but they have so much love left to give. He may have arrived here without a family, but we believe his story deserves a happy ending.

Boone's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!

The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application.
