DESCRIPTION
Meet Jack!
Jack is a handsome 7 to 9 month old Rat Terrier mix weighing around 14 pounds. At his age, he’s already pretty close to his adult size, so while he may fill out a little more, we expect him to remain a small little guy!
Jack and his sister, Jill, were pulled from a Texas shelter and are now getting their chance at finding wonderful forever families. Jack is such a happy, playful little dude with a great temperament. He’s friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and loves running around and playing. He’s also done wonderfully meeting new dogs and would likely have a blast with a canine friend in his forever home.
He’s been curious about cats and has not shown any aggression toward them, but he would need proper introductions and time to learn how to respectfully coexist with a feline friend. Jack is also still learning some of the basics he likely never had the opportunity to learn before rescue. He’s working hard on house training, crate training, and getting comfortable walking on a leash. His forever family should be ready to continue that training and give him some consistency as he settles into his new routine.
While Jack came into rescue with his sister, they are not looking to be adopted together. We think both pups will benefit from going into separate homes where they can build their own confidence, form strong bonds with their individual families, and learn how to thrive independently.
Jack will be up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and will have his health certificate prior to adoption. He’s a sweet, social, playful little guy with so much potential, and we know he’s going to make one lucky family a fantastic little companion!
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Rat Terrier is a lively and intelligent breed known for its versatility and agility.
