Meet CINNAMON!

Cinnamon (otherwise known as Canela in Spanish) is a 1-year-old, 22-pound sweetheart with a big personality and a serious love for cuddles. Oh, and not to mention the best brows you’ve ever seen on a dog lol! She’s a mixed-breed girl (possibly Podengo and Chihuahua) and she’s always ready for a game, a run around the yard, or a little attention from her people.

She was rescued with seven other dogs in Puerto Rico and even then, Canela was the first to run over and say hello. She’s come a long way since those days and is now healthy, happy, and making herself right at home with her foster family.

Canela gets along with other dogs and loves being around people. She’s potty trained, knows her way around a crate, and has lots of fun energy to share. After playtime and a chance to go outside, she’s happy to settle in and enjoy some company.

She hasn’t met cats yet, but she be great with people and her temperament makes us believe she will be just fine with cats! Canela can be an enthusiastic player, so she’d love a family who enjoys an energetic, affectionate little sidekick.

Canela is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm and fecal negative.

**PLEASE NOTE: Canela is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to her forever home once adopted! Please note that we can easily ship her along the East Coast, starting in Miami, ultimately into Virginia Beach. Anyone is welcome to apply and adopt her, as long as you are willing to pick up! The process is incredibly easy to get your dog over from Puerto Rico and we have done it thousands (not an exaggeration) of times!***

Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog.

In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.

They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.

The Portuguese Podengo is a versatile and ancient breed originating from Portugal. Classified into three sizes (small, medium, and large), this breed is known for its exceptional hunting skills, agility, and strong prey drive. With upright ears, almond shaped eyes, and a lean, athletic build, the Portuguese Podengo is a loyal and intelligent companion that thrives on both mental and physical stimulation. As a natural hunter, the Portuguese Podengo requires ample exercise and a secure environment to channel its high energy levels effectively.
