Meet ELARA!
ELARA is 11.5 lbs and estimated to be about 3-4 years old. She's a perfect size to fit in a bag and is very portable. We think she's a papillon/chihuahua/dachshund/terrier (and more!) mix!?. This is purely based upon looks. She is GORGEOUS and has beautiful long hair and a longer body typical of the sato blend.
Elara is currently being fostered in a home with several dogs and is great with them all!
She has been great with every human she's met so far and while we have not had the opportunity to observe any interaction with young children, based on her demeanor, we think she would be fine with them.
Elara has proven to be very adaptable and has settled into her new foster home very well.
HER STORY: Elara was found, along with her son (already adopted), tied up on her owner's balcony. A rescuer we work with was alerted to the case and we agreed to help.
She is spayed, vaccinated, fecal negative, heartworm negative and is ready to find her forever home!
**PLEASE NOTE: Elara is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to her forever home once adopted! Please note that we can easily ship in cabin with a person to many airports including JFK, LGA, EWR, BOS, PHL, BWI, BDL, DCA, IAD, TPA, MCO, ORD and many more! The process is incredibly easy to get your dog over from Puerto Rico and we have done it thousands (not an exaggeration) of times! Any questions about whether we can ship to, please ask!***
Please feel free to email us with any questions about him! We are a small all-volunteer rescue and we see every email that comes through, so your inquiry will not get lost! See below for application info.

We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority.
Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog.
In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.
