Hi! I'm Gus of Goofington!

Yep... that's really my name. And trust me, I earned it.

I'm a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix with legendary eyebrows, a permanent smile, and approximately 55 pounds of goofy enthusiasm. I like to think I'm part comedian, part cuddle expert, and full-time best friend.

I'm always up for an adventure, whether that's playing with my dog buddies, hanging out with kids, or supervising whatever you're doing (quality control is important). Once I've gotten my zoomies out, I'm more than happy to crash on the couch right next to you. Crate trained? Yep! Housebroken? You bet. Good boy? Obviously.

I even saw a couple of cats on my walk the other day. They seemed to mind their business, so I minded mine. I'd call that a pretty successful first impression.

I'm up to date on my vaccines, scheduled to be neutered soon, and officially accepting applications for my forever family.

If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh every single day, keep your heart full, and remind you not to take life too seriously... I think we should meet.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
