DOROTHY - Chihuahua and Terrier Dog for Adoption

Meet DOROTHY! Dorothy is part of the Golden Girls litter!

Dorothy is about 2.5 months old and 5 lbs. She is tiny and is not expected to be large at all full grown. We know she is a chihuahua mix. She is so beautiful and so cute! Dorothy is similar to her sis, Blanche, but her giveaway is the more distinct dark spot in the middle of her forehead (Blanche has 2 smaller dots on her head) and her very long iconic nails a la Cardi B! ;) All joking aside, we know that Dorothy needed her nails trimmed but these photos were taken on the same day that happened - whoops!).

Like her siblings, Dorothy is affectionate, playful, and curious! She is just a young, sweet puppy learning about the world!

She is great with other dogs and is currently with many dogs in her foster home who vary in size and age. She gets along with all of them! Her foster mom is an independent rescuer who helps a lot of dogs in the neighborhood and so any pup that passes through her home has a great understanding of dog social dynamics and cues.

Dorothy will also be great with cats as she is just a young puppy who is ready for new experiences and friends.

House training wise, she is currently going outside and on pads, although please be prepared to continue with housetraining in your home as she's just a puppy that is learning.

HER STORY: Her foster mom took her and her siblings in after the pups' mom got pregnant at a neighbor's house.

She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and ready to find her forever home!

**PLEASE NOTE: Dorothy is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to her forever home once adopted! Please note that we can easily ship in cabin with a person to many airports including JFK, LGA, EWR, BOS, PHL, BWI, BDL, DCA, IAD, TPA, MCO, ORD and many more! The process is incredibly easy to get your dog over from Puerto Rico and we have done it thousands (not an exaggeration) of times! Any questions about whether we can ship to, please ask!***

Please feel free to email us with any questions about her! We are a small all-volunteer rescue and we see every email that comes through, so your inquiry will not get lost! See below for application info.

We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority.

Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog.

In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.
