Chessman - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Wheeling, Illinois

Chessman has been staying in a foster home, but is at our shelter as of Thursday, 8/6. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours!

Chessman is a 10-month-old Chicago boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality! Chessman has been relaxing in a foster home, so we've learned a lot about him! His foster says he's an affectionate and loyal companion who loves everyone. His foster family has a resident dog, who he's getting along wonderfully with! We asked his foster for some information about him, and this is what she had to say:

"Chessman is a super playful and energetic boy who loves to fetch and run around with friends. He enjoys meeting new people, going on walks, and adventuring outside. Like most dogs, Chessman loves a bit of cheese as a special treat or an enrichment toy filler. Once his energy is spent, Chess will happily relax on the couch or in bed with his favorite people. He has so much love to give and will always welcome you home with lots of kisses and tail wags.".

Despite his size, Chess is under a year old and still has that delicious squishy face and extra skin that's so fun to scritch! Like most puppies, Chessman is energetic and can find mischief, so he will need ongoing positive reinforcement training and lots of enrichment while he learns how to be a polite adult dog.

Chessman would fit beautifully into an active family looking for a cuddly friend to grow up alongside. He's still young and full of potential, and he's ready to show you just how devoted a dog can be. Come meet him and start your adventure together!
