DESCRIPTION
Warren is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours!
Warren is an adorable dog with a velvety soft coat, a mooshy face, and the most adorable floppy ears. We met him at Chicago Animal Care and Control, shortly after he had arrived a stray. He didn't have to stay there very long - we scooped him right up and brought him to Heartland. Warren got his vaccines, neuter surgery, and is now ready to be adopted.
Warren is friendly with everyone - he is the kind of dog who leans his whole body into you for comfort, melting into a puddle of love the moment you scratch behind his ears. He is loving walks with volunteers, all the special treats and enrichment items (peanut butter kong is a favorite!!) We discovered he's a "water dog", and ran right to the baby pool during playgroup. Speaking of playgroup, he's a total natural - and seems very comfortable around any dog he has had a chance to meet. He had no problem sharing his pool with both Alfie and Ruthie, and enjoyed being "misted" with the hose while he soaked it all in.
We think Warren is pretty happy here, and will be even happier once he finds a permanent home. He will thrive in a home that appreciates his silly personality and can offer him the love, stability, and comfy beds he deserves.
If you're dreaming of a giant cuddle buddy with a squishy face and a heart of gold, Warren is ready to be your best friend.
Warren's adoption fee has been generously sponsored by The Rosenthal Family Foundation. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
