DESCRIPTION

**Meet Gladys!**

Gladys is a sweet 10-year-old senior lady who is looking for a patient home where she can take her time settling in. She can be anxious in new environments and may pace, pant, or whine while she adjusts. Once she feels comfortable, we hope to see more of her personality shine!

Gladys is very treat-motivated and knows how to sit. She gets especially excited about treats and can be a little too enthusiastic when taking them, so we recommend a home with older children and that everyone in the family meet her before adoption. She may be challenging for a first-time dog owner and would do best with someone who is comfortable helping a nervous dog build confidence.

Gladys has shown interest in other dogs but prefers doing her own thing. She may be able to live with another dog with a slow introduction, separate feeding, and supervision around treats and chews. She'll also need patience with handling and nail care as she learns that these experiences can be safe.

Gladys is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines.

A quiet, stable home, plenty of patience, and enrichment like sniffing, licking, and chewing activities could help Gladys feel more relaxed. This senior girl deserves the chance to decompress, feel safe, and enjoy her golden years. If Gladys might be your right fit, come meet her at the shelter or reach out for more information! adoptions@adoptlansing.org or 517-626-6060

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
